pictures, pictures everywhere

this is the baby pink magnoila tree i planted a couple years ago. (this pic was taken last spring)

i hardly ever see butterflies here but i went to let the dogs out one morning and noticed a whole bunch of them in this one spot.

this was taken right after i planted my gerber daisies.. (i have a long row of them alternated pink and white)

this picture looks like this because of a shakey hand.. this was actually a picture of the new moon after the lunar eclipse. it was glowing red and amazing. i have better photos and a video of this but, i found this picture so cool.

this is my peach tree in my back yard. (it's in the middle of the picture) hard to see it with the woods behind)

this is oregano in my herb garden.

this is italian sweet basil that started to flower.

this is my bartlett pear tree in my backyard. (next to the peach tree) i have tons of fruit trees but, if i posted them all it would be boring. (i also have plums, apricots, granny smith apples, macintosh apples, honeybell oranges and cherry trees.)

these are pansies that i have in these cool barrells on my from porch. (i have 2 of them)

my tiger lillies.. (last spring)

another variety of lily.. (don't know the name though)

this was taken on my back patio a few weeks ago.

picture of the woods in the backyard.

my shed and swing in the backyard.

the woods again. (right in the center is my pear tree)

this was taken this morning. there is this crazy oak tree at the far end of my property, in my front yard, that grows this weepy looking moss year round. this is my favorite tree!

this is an extreme closeup of the lower part of the tree. i zoomed so much that i got the crazy neighbors house. (the house is really old and kinda cool looking) i was kinda shocked that it was in the picture though because the house is about a 15 minute walk away from my house.

the beautiful roses from my husband, for my b-day.. i found them on the doorstep when i got home from school today.. awwwwww!

here is a better picture of that damn skeeter. (probably a different one) and some crap that needs to be scrubbed and pressure washed off my house.. ewwww... that skeeter is so large, he deserves his own zipcode!

my 37th b-day present.. (everyone who breaks their foot with cans of tomatoes deserves one too) i LOVE it!! plus it has sirus and i get to listen to my howard stern again, everyday! what could be better then that?

  1. I love the flower closeups. Also: I should plant a garden so I can have fresh basil waiting just outside.

  2. i am actually a bit obsessive when it comes to my gardens. in the spring and summer i practically live in them. my front yard is full of all kinds of amazing flowers and my huge herb garden. (i grow basil, oregano, garlic chives, lavender, thyme, rosemary and parsley) the herb garden can be a pain because to keep everything alive, it has to be dug up before the fall each year and put into pots and brought in the house, then re-transplanted outside in the spring.
i also have 1/4 acre veggie/fruit garden in the backyard. (cucumbers, peppers, squash, green beans, zucchini, carrots, 17 varieties of heirloom tomatoes, watermelon, cantelope, strawberries, rasberries, blackberries and then all the fruit trees) it's a TON of hard work keeping everything up but, i truly LOVE it! the tomatoes are actually my summer business. (i grow and sell to local farmers markets) i introduced them to the heirlooms about 5 years ago because nobody in NC ever heard of them.. it's also very rewarding to eat fresh food from my garden. (my neighbors also love it because they are able to come pick when they want)

  3. the tomatoes are also the most spectacular thing to look at because of the color and textures.. i can't wait to photograph them and post them here.. pray that i get a nice hearty bounty this season!!!

  4. i love the moon shot!!! and the winter shots!!! and you are so lucky to hear howard stern every morning. i listened to him for YEARS [back in the Jackie the Jokeman era], but that was a long long time ago and now ya gotta pay to catch him. he usually manages to be rather entertaining.

  5. i love howard! what i like about the satalite show is it keeps getting replayed thru the day so you don't have to get up at 6am to listen. jackie also has a show on howards channel on sundays.. "jackies joke hunt" gross name if you say the last 2 words quickly. lol

I miss my fresh garden herbs! Nothing better than being able to pick handfuls of fresh oregano and basil for pastas....*drools*
